As the tradition continues this Saturday December 10 th (RAIN or SHINE), this will mark the 31 st annual
Nevada County Food and Toy Run!
The bikes will start arriving in the morning and gather at the Rood Center in Nevada City, and kick-stands
up at noon and they start the annual trek to the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
This year, we are returning to the traditional route through downtown Grass Valley (on Mill St)! Being in
Downtown Nevada City or Grass Valley are excellent places to watch the parade of bikes. This is a super
exciting time in our community, where people can gather all along the parade route to wave on the
bikes, as they carry much needed food and toys for families in need.
This year the need is greater than ever, and we have over 400 families signed up with more than a 1,000
kids! For those folks that want to participate and don’t ride, we will be at Gate 1 at the fairgrounds in
the main exhibit building accepting donations of food and toys this Friday starting at 11am till 6pm or
Saturday morning 9am till 11am.
This is a continued invitation to all community members to participate, whether donating, volunteering
or just watching the parade in support of the bikers.
Thank you again to everyone who helps support this incredible event, we hope to continue this tradition
for many years to come..
The second Saturday of December every year rain or shine several thousand motorcycles rumble through the streets of Nevada City and Grass Valley en route to the Fairgrounds, a parade like no other. This year the 31st annual Nevada County Toy Run will start at the Rood Center (950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City, CA), where the Bikers will gather to rein in the new holiday season before heading down at noon, through the streets of downtown Nevada City over to downtown Grass Valley. With the support of GVPD,local law enforcement, City of Grass Valley, Grass Valley Downtown Association and The Grass Valley Chamber of commerce, this year we will get back to the original route on Mill Street, where we hope to see many spectators to watch the parade. Once everyone arrives at the Nevada County Fairgrounds (1228 McCourtney Rd, Grass Valley, CA), the bikes will unload new unwrapped toys, gifts and food for the local families in need that might not otherwise have Christmas this year. There are hundreds of families and children waiting in anticipation for the biker's arrival.
This year we will have vendors set up at the fairgrounds, food, drinks and other items for sale.
As the new board of directors takes over the Toy Run, we are all very excited to keep the tradition alive. This event benefits so many families in our community, and we want to make sure no one is left out.
Every year our partners IFM (Interfaith Food Ministries) and Nevada County Food Bank help make our Christmas dinners possible, to send home with every family in need. Without our sponsors, bikers, partners and volunteers we could not make this happen. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, if you aren’t a biker and still want to participate, you can donate money, gift cards and or new toys the Friday before the event.
This is an official invitation December 10th, 2022 to all Nevada County Community members to find a spot along the parade route (which will be posted soon) to help cheer on all the biker’s as they make their way to the fairgrounds. Help us mark the start to the holiday season in Nevada County.
